BRONCHOSCOPY

Bronchoscopy is a little invasive exam that has the goal to evaluate the respiratory route. For its performance, it’s used a flexible tool which is introduced through the oral or nasal cavity and, in most patients, it’s also performed the sedation to turn the exam into something more comfortable. It might be performed in an outpatient or clinical environment, with the most determining factors being from the location to the patient’s age and clinical conditions.

The examination takes an average of 5 to 10 minutes to be completed at the discoveries dependencies and procedures that might be performed. PROCEDURES

BIOPSY OF THE LESIONS AND BRONCHOALVEOLAR LAVAGE ARE USUALLY PERFORMED AT THE SAME PROCEDURE. OTHER THERAPEUTICS MIGHT NEED A SPECIAL PREPARATION AND SPECIFIC MATERIALS, SO, THEREFORE, THEY’RE INITIALLY EVALUATED AND PERFORMED LATER.
COMPLICATIONS
THE COMPLICATION IN DIAGNOSIS EXAMS ARE NOT FREQUENT. A DISCOMFORT AT THE OROPHARYNGEAL ARE AND SHORTNESS OF BREATH MAY OCCUR. IN SOME CASES, THERE MIGHT BE BRONCHOSPASM OR BLEEDING. MOST OF THEM ARE FROM CLINICAL RESOLUTION WITH MEDICATIONS AND SPECIFIC CONDUCTS. PATIENTS WITH DENTAL PROBLEMS MUST ALWAYS ALERT THE ENDOSCOPIST, BECAUSE THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE RISK OF A DENTAL FALL THROUGH THE ORAL USE.
EXAMINATION RESULT
 THE RESULT OF THE EXAMINATION MUST BE WITHDRAWN BY THE PATIENT OR THE RESPONSIBLE AT THE SCHEDULED DATE. MUST NEVER FORGET THAT, IF THERE’S HAD A HISTOPATHOLOGICAL STUDY, THE RESULT MUST ALSO BE WITHDRAWN.
