CHOLECYSTECTOMY

The cholecystectomy is the surgical intervention in which the gallbladder is removed, organ responsible for the storage of bile.

This procedure might be performed through the laparoscopy via or also through the open technique. In most of them, the procedure is needed due the formation of vesicular calculations, which may obstruct the bile draining channels, causing very intense painful crisis and even severe infections, such as the pancreatitis biliary.

The advantage of the laparoscopic cholecystectomy over the open cholecystectomy is the possibility to demand smaller incisions and more discrete scars, less post-operatory pain and a faster recovery for the patient.

The laparoscopic cholecystectomy preparation consists on a thorough medical evaluation, performed through pre-operatory exams and information acquired in a medical consultation for a clinical and allergic history, besides others.
