HIGH DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY
The HIGH DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY (EDA) is a little invasive examination, which has the goal the esophagus’ evaluation. For its performance, a flexible tool is introduced through the oral cavity. OTHER ENDOSCOPIC THERAPEUTICS MUST BE EVALUATED IN A CUSTOMIZED WAY.
THE COMPLICATIONS IN DIAGNOSTIC EXAMS ARE NOT FREQUENT. A DISCOMFORT AT THE OROPHARYNGEAL AND ABDOMINAL AREAS MIGHT OCCUR. BLEEDING AND PERFORATION ARE POSSIBLE EVENTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE’S AN ASSOCIATED THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURE. DENTAL PROBLEMS MUST ALWAYS ALERT THE ENDOSCOPIST, BECAUSE THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE RISK OF A DENTAL FALL THROUGH THE ORAL USE.
THE RESULT OF THE EXAMINATION MUST BE WITHDRAWN BY THE PATIENT OR THE RESPONSIBLE AT THE SCHEDULED DATE. MUST NEVER FORGET THAT, IF THERE’S HAD A HISTOPATHOLOGICAL STUDY, THE RESULT MUST ALSO BE WITHDRAWN.
